This includes supporting engineering product development teams by conducting vehicle tests to specific company protocols ensuring vehicle/component adherence to target performance levels and carry out tuning of various dynamic systems.

Vehicle development

  • Define attributes targets to meet customer expectations
  • Define testing plan in line with budget and deliverables
  • Benchmarking competitor vehicles/components/systems
  • Define tuneables range with chassis team
  • Communicate and report vehicle performance levels

Carry out tuning of vehicle systems and attributes including:

  • Springs, ARB's, top mounts, spring aids
  • Compliance tuning of bushes and static geometry options
  • Damper tuning of passive and adaptive systems
  • Steering system - HPAS hardware and supporting EPAS tuning
  • Powertrain mounts
  • Wheel and tyre selection
  • High speed aerodynamic tuning

Carry out vehicle validation and sign off activities:

  • Handling DVP sign off
  • High speed durability to a defined lap time - N'ring, Nardo etc
  • Validate production vehicles and press car assessments
  • Support management ride and drive activities

Max has experience of tuning Bilstein adaptive damping systems including building hardware codes, measurement of forces and vehicle software parameter tuning of adaptive algorithms and 3 mode selection.
